Back towards the end of August, Kevin De Bruyne injured himself, damaging a ligament in his knee.
Expected to be out for the next two or three months, the Manchester City star travelled to Barcelona to see Dr Ramon Cugat’s clinic at the behest of Pep Guardiola.
With that now over and done with, the 27-year-old has started the road back to regaining full fitness so he can help his teammates out as soon as possible.
Speaking to Het Nieuwsblad over the weekend, the midfielder’s agent explained where his client was at physically.
He said: “I can confirm that Kevin has started training again. He’s running gently, but it’s too soon to talk about a return”.
This echoed Pep Guardiola, who revealed his player was on the right track, suggesting there’s a good chance De Bruyne could be back on the football field before December, with Het Nieuwsblad speculating he could be part of Martinez’s Belgium squad for the November international break.
Of course, that entirely depends on how his recovery pans out, and there’s a chance Manchester City might not want to rush him back due to his importance in their plans.
