For the past couple of months, we’ve been covering the big saga which involves Manchester City youngster Uriel Antuna.

The player is currently having a loan spell at Los Angeles Galaxy, who are interested in keeping him for next season.

However, Mexican side Chivas are coming strong for his signing, and even though Galaxy have claimed they can match any offer he gets, it seems he’s now closer to going to his home country.

Reports from North America have been claiming Chivas are finalising a US$12m deal with Manchester City to buy him permanently. And now, speaking to the Mexican media, the player himself has admitted that he’s ‘excited’ with the possibility of joining the club.

“It excites me a lot. We all know the history of Chivas, what they achieved, the players who have been there. They’re one of the biggest in Mexico,” Uriel Antuna told Mexican outlet TUDN (via Bola Vip). “I wouldn’t close the door on any team, but they are situations that must be put in the balance of the family.”

Antuna has even confirmed that he’s been in talks with Chivas’ board, having mentioned a chat he had with the club’s sporting director Ricardo Peláez.

“We talked a little with him. He told me about the project. I like the idea of returning Chivas to where they should be, it’s a good opportunity, but you have to put it in the balance. I have to talk to my family, my representative, to know what do.”
