With Manchester City selling Ivan Ilic to Hellas Verona in the summer of 2021, the Italian media many times that Pep Guardiola’s side would have some kind of priority over the player.
That means that in case the Serie A side decide to sell him, then the Cityzens could step in to guarantee his return to the club.
It looks, however, that Manchester City are not that interested in bringing Ilic back. However, they may still benefit from a future transfer.
And from that amount, Hellas Verona would need to pay €5m to Manchester City due the agreement from his transfer last year.
Ilic is said to be a very wanted man in the market, as besides those Serie A sides willing to sign him, it’s claimed that ‘various foreign clubs’ have been after him as well.
So regardless of no longer being interested in the midfielder, Manchester City can still be happy with with his evolution in Italy, and rub their hands at the thought of getting a nice little income.
