Manchester City have closed a deal with Grêmio for the signing of Diego Rosa, according to reports from Brazil today.
Website Globo Esporte claims that the midfielder will sign a five-year deal with the Premier League side, in a transfer which could cost up to €24m.
Sources told the outlet that the negotiations are ‘99% done’, and only ‘bureaucratic issues and signatures are missing for the official announcement’.
Globo Esporte writes that there’s an initial amount of €5m, with a part being paid now and other in January. Then there’s an undisclosed bonus of €4m.
After that, if Rosa gets registered in the Premier League, Manchester City are paying €12m more, and if he makes 10 appearances for the club in the league, there’s another bonus of €3m.
The teenager is turning 18 in October, which means he’ll only be able to move to Europe in the January window. Globo Esporte says he should be first loaned out to another club, which should be either to the Italian first division or to Girona.
