When you score 14 goals in 27 games from left-wing, even if it’s with your club’s youth teams, scouts tend to notice.

When you do that and your contract is up in the next couple of months, teams will come flocking, much like Manchester City and Brighton Hove & Albion have for AS Roma’s Gianmarco Cangiano.

The name might not mean anything to you considering he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Serie A side, but a number of clubs are hovering around the 17-year-old, who has enjoyed a strong season.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, both the Cityzens and the Seagulls have sent scouts to watch the youngster in action, but have yet to make any sort of move to poach him from Rome.

The Italian website give a reason as to why that might be: Cangiano’s priority is to remain with his current side, which would mean renewing his contract with them.

If they fail to agree on anything, then it seems we could have an interesting battle between who can be the most convincing: Pep Guardiola or Chris Hughton.

Well, them and the number of other Serie A clubs who are interested in the youngster.
