Manchester United’s Casemiro was linked with a move to AS Roma yesterday.
It was reported that the Italian club made contact for the Brazilian some days ago, which they’d done so due to uncertainty surrounding the future of Leandro Paredes.
Roman outlet Il Messaggero, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, have reported more about on situation around the 32-year-old, who is falling out of favour at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim.
The outlet claims the idea of signing Casemiro ‘makes the fans dream’ but there is a problem, as the Brazil international’s salary demands are dampening the chances.
The Giallorossi will not be able to cover his entire salary, or even get close. Manchester United would have to continue paying the majority of his wages for a move to be feasible.
There is pessimism about this possibility, even if the multi-time Champions League winner would be interested in a move to Roma.
At the same time, Casemiro’s entourage is offering him around to multiple clubs as they look to find a new destination for the midfielder. All this points towards the fact that the player’s adventure at Old Trafford is largely over, regardless of whether Roma come forward for him or not.
