Two Madrid clubs are pursuing the Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso, the Spanish media says. Outlet AS claims that Real and Atletico are both keen on the 27-year-old, and could take him still in this transfer window.

It’s claimed that even though the Blues haven’t put a tag price on him, the Spaniard should be available for €30m, which is a pretty affordable amount for the La Liga clubs.

Atletico would want Alonso to replace Filipe Luís, who could be on his way out to PSG. In Real Madrid’s case, they would like him to be a backup option for Marcelo, and also be adapted to central defense when needed.

Although Marcos Alonso is from Madrid and was raised at Real Madrid’s academy, AS doesn’t have much to say on whether the player would fancy a return to the city or not.

The Spanish newspaper states that Alonso is wanted so much by both clubs that even if he doesn’t leave Chelsea this summer, Atletico and Real will continue to battle for him in the next transfer windows.

We must say that with the Premier League transfer window closed for incoming moves, we find it unlikely that Chelsea would just let Alonso go for €30m with no chance of replacing him.
