Mexican side Tigres moving for Manchester United’s Raphael Varane would be madness this summer.
That’s according to El Guardián, who say that ‘this is madness’ in response to reports that the Mexican side are eyeing up the defender.
Varane announced this week that he will be leaving Manchester United at the end of the season when his current contract comes to an end.
It remains to be seen where he ends up next, with it very unlikely that he will be bringing an end to his career at this point.
Reports in Mexico have linked him with Tigres, with journalist David Medrano having essentially started the rumour by revealing the club will be signing a European centre back of French nationality.
The newspaper explains his availability on a free makes a deal for Varane possible while there is also space in the finances at the club to allow them to pay for the salary of a luxury footballer like Varane.
No details about what he could earn are being made clear, but he would undoubtedly be one of the highest paid players in the league regardless.
Either way, it’s stated that ‘this is madness’ for the Mexican side, with the prospect of Varane arriving from Manchester United seen as huge, and certainly a massive surprise.
