On Thursday, Il Resto del Carlino reported Ipswich Town’s interest in Bologna’s Thijs Dallinga.
The striker was said to have doubts about a move to Kieran McKenna’s side. He’d kept the offer on hold, waiting for more approaches. Having been put on pause, Ipswich sources sought to deny the interest, but it’s hardly something the Bologna regional media would pluck from thin air.
Valencia were also said to be interested, as the Spanish club were considering the possibility of parting ways with Lucas Beltran.
Ipswich Town’s hope of signing the Dutchman is now fading away.
VI in the Netherlands report that several clubs have approached Bologna for the forward. Lyon is now emerging as the likely destination, with the French side moving forward.
The Ligue 1 club are speaking to Bologna and to the 25-year-old’s camp, in an attempt to finalise an agreement.
Interest from Valencia has been dropped. There’s been other Spanish interest but it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere.
Lyon likeliest destination for Ipswich Town target

As things stand, Lyon are closest to signing Dallinga, with Ipswich Town likely to miss out. The player’s stock is still quite high in France, where he impressed with Toulouse before joining Bologna in 2024.
His time at the Rossoblu hasn’t really taken off. He has four goals in all competitions but the Dutchman has never quite made a mark in Serie A.
Santiago Castro is Bologna’s first-choice striker, making Dallinga simply a back-up. The Italian side are likely to consider his transfer. However, their asking price is unknown, having paid €15m to land him.
