Lyon have announced the figures on Jake O’Brien’s transfer to Everton after his move to Goodison Park was confirmed today.

An official announcement on the French side’s website details the transfer operation today after his move was announced by both clubs.

The Ligue side confirm the defender has joined Everton after just a year at the club following a move from Crystal Palace last year.

Everton are paying up to €19.5m for the Irish defender, with Lyon also retaining a 10% profit on the added value of a possible future transfer. So, a 10% profit of any profits Everton make if they sell him on in future.

There is no mention of whether that €19.5m fee is one immediate block payment or if it is an initial fee plus bonuses, just that it amounts to that figure overall.

They add that the defender has ‘seized the opportunity’ to move to Everton and play in the Premier League after an impressive first year with Lyon that saw him make 32 appearances and manage five goals, making him the club’s second highest goal scorer last season.
