Arsenal fans have undoubtely been pretty happy with the form that Lucas Torreira has shown at the club in such a short time.
After arriving from Sampdoria on a €30m deal last summer, the 22-year-old was quick earning a place in the team and has been excellent in recoverying balls in midfield.
After another great performance against Liverpool at the weekend, Torreira spoke to Brazilian TV channel RedeTV about the game, and has shown how happy he is in London.
Speaking in Spanish, Torreira told reporter Reanto Senise about the preparations to be playing in such a high level and also mentioned the help from squad and staff to achieve that.
“I prepare myself a lot during the week to be able to stand up to this kind of game,” Torreira told RedeTV. “This league requires a lot of intensity, a lot of play. Well, I’ve been doing my best, with the help of my teammates, with all the technical staff as well, which gave me a lot of confidence.
“And today I feel, sincerely, very happy in the team. And happy because we’re doing great things.”
Asked about the song that Arsenal fans have made for him, which goes ‘he comes from Uruguay, he’s only five–foot high’, Torreira couldn’t hide his smile. “Yes, yes. Very beautiful. I am very happy every time they sing and I am very proud of it all.”
Lucas Torreira. Apenas 1,68m, mas um gigante no @Arsenal. Já tem música da torcida: “Torreira, oooh! He comes from Uruguay. He’s only 5 foot 5” (Ele vem do Uruguai. Tem apenas 1 metro e meio). Após o jogo contra o Liverpool, falou sobre o ótimo início na PL e a homenagem dos fãs. pic.twitter.com/PB3t2MWCpD
