Nottingham Forest target Nino is currently in Saudi Arabia, where his club Fluminense are playing in the Club World Cup.
The rumours about his future aren’t forgotten, though, and as the centre-back was interviewed by Cazé TV, he was asked about a transfer to Europe.
Nino made it clear that his decision will be heavily influenced by Fluminense and Brazil manager Fernando Diniz, who’s often giving him advice.
“He’ll give his opinion, for sure”, Nino told Cazé TV.
“Diniz, since he asked me to stay, since December last year, I’ve talked to him about everything that’s happened regarding my career. He’s a guy who takes part, always listens to me, gives his opinion. He’s a guy who always knows everything that’s going on.”
Nino was asked about where he’s going next after the Club World Cup, and, smiling, said it’s his hometown, Recife. Then he claimed that nothing about a transfer is certain yet.
“No. There are a lot of things going on. We’re still thinking things through. Let’s see what happens.”
Nottingham Forest had been said to be the strongest contenders for the signing, but since Fluminense are busy with the tournament in Saudi Arabia, there hasn’t been many transfer news around the squad lately.
Even reports from Germany recently said that Nottingham Forest have a ‘verbal agreement’ for the signing, so the talks indeed seem to be in the advanced stages, and we should get more updates as soon as Fluminense’s squad return to Brazil.
