Marko Arnautovic is now a fully fledged Hammer. Currently with West Ham in Rotenburg, Arnautovic isn’t too far away from one of his former clubs.

Slaven Bilic’s new signing played for Werder Bremen from 2010 to 2013 and it was a very up and down time. The West Ham player has been speaking to the German media today, and was asked about Werder.

Arnautovic accepts it wasn’t a great time in his career, and is quoted by Bild as saying: “It was always hard with the newspapers. I got a lot of rubbish in my head. In Bremen it was difficult for me to walk.

“The most beautiful things I have taken from Germany are my wife and two children.”

Werder have recently released Claudio Pizarro, and West Ham’s new signing was quizzed on the 38 year old, saying: “I would always give Pizarro a contract. One of the greatest legends I’ve met. Every team needs a Claudio Pizarro. He is a must. Werder should have done it differently. All of Bremen loves Pizarro – just as I do.”

Arnautovic is openly recommending Pizarro to anyone who’ll listen, it’s probably a good job the attacker isn’t in charge of West Ham signings.

As for a possible return to the Bundesliga at some stage, the 28 year old doesn’t sound too convinced: “I haven’t received any offers in recent years. I think the Germans don’t want me anymore.”
