Leeds United’s pursuit of Hertha Berlin striker Matheus Cunha got a little more attention through the past week, with new reports about the chase coming out.
It’s been claimed that the Brazilian has been ‘flirting’ with a move to Elland Road, while some stories said the Bundesliga side demand at least €30m for the move.
The German media has always pointed out that there’s a big competition for Cunha this summer, and that was confirmed today by Hertha Berlin manager Pal Dardai.
Speaking to the local press after a training session, he explained that the 22-year-old has been wanted by several clubs from abroad, although there’s hope he can stay.
“He has a lot of offers, but also a Hertha heart,” said Dardai about the Olympic champion.
“We’ll be able to have him this weekend, we’re counting on him. His positive euphoria after the medal, we can use it. He’s a winner. He’s fit.”
When covering the quotes, Kicker writes that the list of clubs who want Cunha includes Atalanta, Napoli, Zenit, Leeds and Atletico Madrid.
Regarding the Premier League side, it’s said they’ve been interested ‘for a long time’.
