Following recent reports from the Swedish media linking Hugo Larsson to AFC Bournemouth, his club Malmo have now had their say on the matter.
AftonBladet managed to have a word with club director Daniel Andersson, and soon asked him if he thinks the player is being sold.
“I don’t want to value it. As I said, all the pieces have to fall into place. You have the player’s wish and our piece to fall into place. They have until tomorrow if it is to become a reality,” Daniel Andersson told AftonBladet.
“We’ll simply have to see. It depends on which club are interested and what they can pay and how the situation is for us. We value him very highly, so it is clear that a lot of money is needed for us to release him.”
It was at the weekend that the Swedish outlet had first reported Bournemouth’s interest in Larsson. In their story, it was claimed that the Cherries got in touch with Malmo and revealed that they’d like to sign the 18-year-old.
With the midfielder being so young, the English club’s intention would be to buy him now and loan him out to let him get some experience. Some potential destinations would be the very same Malmo or Ligue 1 side Lorient.
Despite being a teenager, Larsson already has 14 appearances for the Swedish club this season, even in European competitions, as he played in Champions League qualifiers and then made appearances in the Europa League as well. On Transfermarkt, he’s currently valued at €4m.
