Isak Hansen-Aarøen is one of the brightest young talents in Manchester United’s academy and was part of Erik ten Hag’s squad for the club’s pre-season tour.
In 2020, the Red Devils signed the 19-year-old from Norwegian side Tromsø and he’s yet to make his senior debut. The Manchester United youngster is currently with the Norway U21 squad and this allowed VG to have a chat with him.
Alejandro Garnacho came up through the ranks of the Premier League side’s academy and cemented his place in the first team squad. Hansen-Aarøen has unsurprisingly said he wants to emulate the Argentine at Old Trafford.
“Absolutely. When the chance comes, you have to be ready. It can come suddenly. What I’m doing now is just making sure that when the chance comes, I’ll be ready to take it,” he said.
VG then asked the young midfielder whether there was talk of going out on loan in the last window.
“There was talk of something different, but I don’t want to say too much about it. There was some stuff, but we didn’t quite agree,” Hansen-Aarøen explained.
When further quizzed on what that was, he said there will be more clarity in a “few months”.
The teenager has also opened the door to joining a new club in January as he says a move in the next window is “possible”. VG then asked if he’ll move to the Championship or another country.
“There is a lot of interest. If we wanted it to be on a loan, I know we could go,” he added.
Hansen-Aarøen has insisted that first team football is “very important and a step I will certainly take very soon.”
As things stand, this would likely be away from Manchester United.
