Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez is not thinking of leaving the club anytime soon.
The player’s wish to continue playing for the Molineux side was revealed today in an interview with Mexican outlet TUDN. There, he was asked if he’s keen on signing a new contract with the Premier League side, and said he’s open to that.
“Yes, why not? I have this year and another year left on my contract, you never know what might happen and you don’t have to close the doors to anyone either. We will have to see what is best and from there make decisions, but I feel happy, with a lot of desire to continue here.”
In that same interview, the player also talked about his wish of returning to his former club America. But with him planning to stay at Wolves for a few more years, it seems it will still take a while for that to happen.
Raul Jimenez is currently spending the international break with the national team. Even though he has an injury which stopped him from featuring for Bruno Lage’s side last weekend, he’s set to work on his recovery with Mexico’s staff.
The striker had also missed a couple of games this season due to a knee injury, and in the four appearances he managed to make for Wolves, he scored one goal in an EFL Cup match against Preston North End.
