Wolves are close to having a full agreement in place with Besiktas for Emmanuel Agbadou to join the Turkish side.

The Ivorian has been linked with a move to the Istanbul side this month as they look to bring a new central defender.

Beşiktaş have been in pursuit of a central defender following the recent departure of Gabriel Paulista. The 35-year-old has returned to Brazil after mutually terminating his contract.

Sabah report the Black Eagles are on the verge of signing the Wolves player, with an agreement in place with his camp.

A loan with a mandatory €15m purchase is expected to soon be agreed between the two clubs. Again, it’s reported his agent is in Istanbul trying to close the deal.

Journalist Santi Aouna echoes reports that Agbadou has already given his approval to a move to Besiktas. He states that only the final details on the transfer need clarifying before he makes the move to the Super Lig.

A deal for the defender has been progressing over the last month. This week has seen an acceleration in the efforts from Besiktas.

They already secured Agbadou’s approval for the move. The player’s agent was then spotted landing at Istanbul airport on Firday for final negotiations.

He has, presumably, been a part of negotiations between the two clubs as well.

Now a deal appears to be in the final stages, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Agbadou travels early next week for his medical.

Agbadou has made 16 appearances this season, but hasn’t recently featured recently due AFCON. The Ivory Coast made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament and subsequently missed a chunk of the Christmas period.

The 28-year-old is contracted to Wolves until June 2029, but his time with the club is coming to an end.
