Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has claimed that Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has it easier than he does, as he plays as a centre-forward.

Sky Germany have an interview with the Liverpool star today ahead of the big meeting between the Reds and Manchester City this weekend.

Liverpool head into the clash at the top of the table after a superb season in which they have led throughout and looked destined for the title.

It has not been plain sailing for Manchester City, though, who currently sit fourth in the table and 17 points behind Arne Slot’s side at this moment in time.

While the two sides are not competing at the top of the table this season, their best players have continued their battle at the top of the goalscoring charts.

Those are currently led by Salah, who has 24 goals and 15 assists in 25 games, while Erling Haaland trails behind on 19 goals and three assists in 25 games. Salah is also ahead when it comes to minutes per goal and his goal conversion rate, but Haaland is ahead on goals per 90.

It’s a tough battle for scoring supremacy that the Liverpool star is currently winning, something even he seems surprised by as he believes the Manchester City striker has it easier.

“No, I respect him a lot,” he said when asked about comparisons.

“We may have only spoken to each other once after the last game. But he’s a striker, so his life is easier. I wish him all the best, of course. But his life is easy because he plays as a striker.

“Getting that kind of quota as a winger is pretty difficult. Any winger can tell you that. That’s why I see it differently between us, because he’s a striker and I’m a winger.”
