Over the past month or so, reports coming out of Italy have discussed Liverpool wanting to sign Inter Milan’s Nicolò Barella in the summer.
It was also explained Jürgen Klopp is leading the Merseyside club’s pursuit of the 26-year-old as the manager is in love with him.
Liverpool’s interest in the midfielder is now highlighted by Calciomercato.it, when they talk about his suitors.
The Italy international has a deal until 2026 and has a valuation of at least €70m. Simone Inzaghi would want to rely upon him for the final two months of this season. Meanwhile, he’s generated interest from several top European clubs.
Liverpool are the only team mentioned and it’s said their interest ‘undoubtedly stands out’. In need to bolster their midfield, the Reds could think of Barella in the next window.
Barella’s club teammate, Marcelo Brozović, is also linked with a move away from the San Siro. Calciomercato.it state one of them will leave after this season and the Serie A side may have a decision to make in the summer.
With Liverpool standing out as the Italian’s main contender and Klopp being his fan, it needs to be seen if the Reds can take him away from Inter.
