Liverpool ‘would be willing’ to pay £20m for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch but need to go £10m higher to get the German champions to discuss a move.
That’s according to BILD, who say Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp ‘won’t give up’ and are ‘intensifying their efforts’ to sign the Dutchman.
The newspaper reports that Gravenberch is still high on the list of possible midfield candidates for the Reds as they move on from the Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia sagas.
According to their information, Liverpool would be willing to pay £20m, around €23m, for Gravenberch. Reports elsewhere have put that figure at £30m but as yet, no official offer has been received by Bayern.
The Reds interest in Gravenberch is a longstanding one though and they believe he is there to be signed as he is ‘dissatisfied’ with life at the Allianz Arena after a first season that saw him barely feature.
With Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer in the squad, Bayern are open to a deal and if Liverpool offered £30m for him, they ‘could be ready to talk’.
That would give them a tidy profit on a player they paid €18.5m for last year and they know they already have cover for him.
Whether Liverpool are willing to pay £30m remains to be seen but Gravenberch is presented as the ‘next piece of the puzzle’ for them after they secured a deal for Stuttgart captain Wataru Endo.
