Real Madrid announced (former) Spain coach Julen Lopetegui will be Zinedine Zidane’s successor at the Santiago Bernabeu, and that allows rumours to kick off.

According to Marca, the Spanish club will look to accelerate their transfer business now they have confirmed their new coach. Keylor Navas has been Real’s first choice goalkeeper in the past few seasons.

It’s claimed that even when Zidane was in charge at Real, the Champions League winners had decided on signing AS Roma stopper Alisson Becker. He is the favourite candidate for the goalkeeping position for the La Liga giants this summer.

Alisson is currently on international duty with Brazil, preparing for the 2018 World Cup. Real Madrid are aware they are not the only club interested in him. Liverpool are also keen on landing the South American keeper.

The Reds are believed to be “very close” to the transfer situation and are “willing to pay” whatever Roma demands to sign Alisson. It’s stated the Merseyside club are looking to seal the deal before the start of the World Cup as they fear his price tag could further increase if he goes on to impress in Russia.

The player has already admitted that he wants his future sorted before Brazil’s first World Cup fixture (on June 17th). Marca claims Alisson has made it clear that it is his priority to sign for Real. However, the 13-time European champions are unwilling to wait longer to seal the deal.

Real are aware that they have to spend big to bring in a new goalkeeper, but they are not willing to pay more than €60m to Roma for Alisson.
