In the Sweden squad as it stands right now, following injury withdrawals, and previous retirement, there’s only one England based player. Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson sticks out as the only one left in the squad with the St George flag at the side to represent the country he plays in.
Wales’ Swansea City have Kristoffer Nordfeldt, and Norwich City’s Martin Olsson pulled out of the most recent squad due to injury.
If Liverpool or West Ham had got their way, at least according to Calciomercato, they would have already been joined by another Swedish international.
Calciomercato claims that during the summer there were offers from the clubs of Jurgen Klopp and Slaven Bilic for Ludwig Augustinsson. FC Copenhagen rejected them both, says the report, but things may be about to change with regards to the left back’s future.
AC Milan are now interested and Calciomercato sound positive about the chances of an upcoming transfer.
If Liverpool and west Ham were interested enough in the summer to bid, and that’s a big IF, then there’s every chance Klopp and Bilic are still keen and will keep an eye on the 22 year old’s situation.
