Last summer, we relayed news from Austria that Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Luka Sučić had already attracted interest from Liverpool.
The 20-year-old’s still with the Austrian champions as the Reds or any other club didn’t carry out a deal last year.
Liverpool continue to be in the picture to sign Sučić, if a report from Salzburger Nachrichten is to be believed.
The newspaper looks at Red Bull Salzburg’s plans for the next window, where it’s pointed out the sale of a few players could bring in millions to the club.
It’s also their philosophy to cash in from those players who have been sought after by other European clubs.
Sučić is included in the list and Liverpool are among the clubs to have been watching the ‘strong’ midfielder for ‘some time’. That’s all the report has to say about Jürgen Klopp’s side.
The Croatia international has a contract until 2025 and the report states a fee of around €20m is sufficient to take him away from Red Bull Salzburg.
Liverpool will have to bolster their midfield next season and Sučić could be an option for them in the summer, especially if they struggle to meet Borussia Dortmund’s demands for a certain Jude Bellingham.
