Fenerbahçe’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu has ended up on Liverpool’s transfer agenda, according to a report from Turkey.
The fullback has made 34 appearances this season, scoring two goals and registering three assists in the process. His performances have caught the attention of clubs across Europe, including the Reds.
That’s at least what Türkiye Gazetesi are reporting, and they add that Liverpool want to sign the 24-year-old.
Apart from the Merseyside club, the Turkey international is also on the radar of AC Milan, Napoli, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
His current deal lasts until 2026, and he can play either fullback role but is used mainly on the left. Faced with the possibility of losing him after this season, Fenerbahçe have already started looking for a replacement. It’s said Fatih Karagümrük’s Levent Mercan has been identified to take over from Kadıoğlu.
Türkiye Gazetesi have relayed claims made elsewhere that Fenerbahçe have reached an agreement with their Süper Lig counterpart for Mercan. This may please Liverpool and other clubs who have shown interest in Kadıoğlu.
It would only make sense for Liverpool to sign Kadıoğlu if Andrew Robertson or Kōstas Tsimikas were to leave Anfield in the summer.
