With Liverpool linked to several midfielders in the past few weeks, it seems they may have arrived too late for one of the options.
As reported by Bild, following Bayern Munich’s disastrous defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League, the German giants rushed for a reinforcement and ‘sealed’ agreement for a summer arrival.
That’s RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, who has a contract expiring this summer and should now join Thomas Tuchel’s side for free.
Bild add that Liverpool, as well as Chelsea, were ‘also interested’ in landing the 25-year-old, but the outlet strongly believes he’s really on his way to Bayern Munich.
Earlier this week, several reports in the English media claimed that Liverpool are pulling out of the race for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham, despite being previously considered one of the contenders for the signing.
However, the Reds don’t seem to be done with Bundesliga targets, as they’re also said to be keen on signing Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.
Now perhaps with Laimer’s arrival, there could be an open route to get Gravenberch to Anfield.
