Belgian star Christian Benteke is facing an uncertain future at Liverpool following his big money move last summer.
Crystal Palace were said to be interested in the 25-year-old, and now rumours of a move to Besiktas are starting to gather pace in Turkey.
Yesterday, reports in the Turkish media suggested Besiktas already have an agreement with Benteke, and will now try to convince Liverpool to let him leave on loan.
According to a latest report on Turkish website Fotomac, Besiktas have made a loan offer to Liverpool for Benteke. The Merseyside club want to offload the Belgian permanently, but could evaluate Besiktas’ offer.
Interestingly, Benteke’s agent, Kismet Eris, told The Guardian they’re ‘waiting for any news’, and that ‘several clubs are interested in signing Benteke’. That’s a shift in stance for saying earlier this summer that Benteke was going nowhere.
Speaking to Sport Witness in June, the player’s agent stated there was then “nothing at all with any team”, and when asked if we could expect Benteke to stay at Liverpool for the 2016-17 season, his answer was a simple “yes”.
The Belgian international hasn’t participated in any of Liverpool’s pre-season games, and it remains to be seen if the Merseyside club can offload him in the coming days.
