Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has dismissed any talk of Take Kubo leaving this summer, despite Liverpool and Tottenham reportedly being keen on him.
The Spanish president has been speaking to AS about the Japanese star, waxing lyrical about his abilities and insisting neither Liverpool nor Tottenham are in the mix for him.
Reports over the last few weeks have seen Kubo linked with a move away from Sociedad this month, with Premier League sides reportedly keen.
Tottenham were first thrown into the mix last month, with it claimed that a bid was being readied, and he could be a major signing for Ange Postecoglou this summer.
Liverpool were then thrown into the mix thanks to some misinterpretations, with a report in Japan cited as a source claiming that they had already wrapped up and he would be Arne Slot’s first major signing this summer.
The reality was far different, though, with that report actually just covering interest and misinterpreted, leading to a whole lot of excitement over nothing concrete.
Aperribay has now moved to ensure the real story is out there, insisting nothing is going on with Liverpool, Tottenham or anyone else at this moment in time.
“He is a great player, a young man with a lot of personality, very participative and the truth is that we are very happy that he is at Real Sociedad,” AS report him saying.
“I think there is no issue, I don’t see a possibility. We are in the market, and anything can happen, but I think Take is very happy at Real and will continue, there is no negotiation with any team.
“We are not in any situation, there is no conversation. We love Take very much at Real, we are very happy with him, we hope he stays forever and can play his entire football life with us.”
