Liverpool have been told they need ‘at least €50m’ to sign LOSC Lille youngster Leny Yoro, with the French side completely uninterested in letting him go.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who cover the player today and the developing story around him as clubs eye up a move for him.
One report yesterday threw Liverpool into the mix for the young defender, explaining the Reds were effectively drooling over him and were keeping track of his development as they plan for a future without the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip.
Foot Mercato don’t mention the Reds today but instead focus on Paris Saint Germain, who are also keen and ‘not giving up’ on their own pursuit of him.
They explain that like Liverpool, PSG are keen on the youngster, whose ‘remarkable statistics’ have earned him plenty of attention and caught the eye of sports advisor Luis Campos.
The problem is that Lille ‘do not intend’ to let the youngster go and ‘there is no indication’ that they will ‘give in’ when it comes to a potential battle for him.
Instead, they are working on an extension for the 18-year-old and have put a starting price of €50m on his head to ward off suitors.
According to FM’s information, Lille will not open discussion for less than that figure despite the player being so young and relatively inexperienced.
It’s not something which has scared off PSG yet, indeed they are ‘ready to pay’ that price for him as they are that convinced by the French U21 international.
Whether Liverpool feel the same remains to be seen but the race appears to be picking up pace and Lille are determined to ensure they get a huge figure if they’re to sell at any point.
