Liverpool maintain interest in Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries, after failing to sign him in the winter market.

On April 8th, we relayed news that the Premier League side are keen on signing the right-back.

Later that month, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that the player’s father, Boris, was unhappy with a failed move to Liverpool in January. He’s managing the 30-year-old and is working to help his son secure a ‘dream’ Premier League move.

The representative has asked agents and intermediaries to help the Inter Milan star move to England. The Reds can help the 30-year-old fulfil his dream in the summer.

Dumfries was part of the Nerazzurri squad that won the title this season. He played 28 matches and even managed five goals and two assists.

Liverpool working on summer deal

The Netherlands international will soon join the national team for the World Cup. Behind the scenes, the Anfield club are trying to secure his services.

That’s according to FcInterNews, and their title state ‘two significant expressions of interest from abroad’.

Within the report, they mention Liverpool and Barcelona as his suitors and both clubs are keen on signing Denzel Dumfries.

Arne Slot’s side and the La Liga winners made contact with his representatives to inform of their desire to sign him. Barcelona could make advances if Jules Koundé were to move elsewhere for a big fee.

The Dutchman’s future will likely be decided after the World Cup, which also provides him an opportunity to showcase his qualities.

He’s happy at the San Siro, but his €25m release clause make him an attractive prospect in the transfer market. This clause will come into effect in July and therefore, one can’t rule out Dumfries changing clubs after the World Cup.

Contract, value and agent info

Denzel Dumfries has a contract until 2028 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €25m.

The Inter Milan star’s father, Boris Dumfries, is now taking care of his interest and future.

His agent is keen on taking him to England and this gives Liverpool an advantage over Barcelona in the transfer battle. Unlike the Spanish giants, the Reds don’t seem to have any condition to make further advances to sign him.
