Liverpool will look to bolster their midfield in the next window and Jürgen Klopp dreams of signing Inter Milan’s Nicolò Barella, according to InterLive.it.
The Serie A side are not willing to sell their star for less than €70m and this has seen the Reds look for a more affordable profile in the market.
This is where Khéphren Thuram would fit in for Liverpool and the OGC Nice player is also on the radar of Inter, Napoli and AC Milan.
Despite this, it’s claimed the Merseyside club seem ‘stronger than anyone’ in the race to sign the 22-year-old. The Ligue 1 side would not hold on to the France international if they were to receive a convincing offer.
The report states that Klopp’s efforts to sign the player could be successful with an offer of around €32-35m, while claims elsewhere have indicated Nice want at least €40m.
Thuram’s displays for Nice has not only seen him attract more suitors but also improve his valuation.
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has long set his sights on the midfielder but the rising asking price and competition from Liverpool make it ‘quite unrealistic’ for his side to sign him. Therefore, InterLive.it claim ‘Klopp will win’.
This would also bring good news to Inter since the Reds could move away from Barella.
