Liverpool are ‘still in the running’ for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham and may have even force rivals Real Madrid to look at other targets.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who cover the interest in the player today and the efforts from several big sides in Europe.
Liverpool are known to be big admirers of the midfielder, with Jurgen Klopp keen to reinvent their midfield in the coming months.
Sky confirm that the player is ‘highly-rated’ by numerous clubs ahead of next summer, with Liverpool and Manchester City competing alongside Real Madrid.
Klopp and Liverpool are said to be ‘putting a lot of pressure’ on the player and are ‘above all’ in the running, so much so that Madrid are already looking at alternatives.
Recent reports in Spain have indicated that they are looking at a possible deal for Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez, who would cost significantly less than the €120m current being touted for Bellingham.
A €100m figure has already been touted for the Argentine, who only joined for €12m in the summer, but it is still a price below what Dortmund are likely to ask for Bellingham.
Thus, they may turn their attention to him instead, leaving Liverpool with only Manchester City as competitors for the England man.
