On Tuesday morning, we covered Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo‘s story with Liverpool star Sadio Mané on their front page.
Their piece claimed the winger ‘would be delighted to join’ Barcelona, as he’s ‘seduced’ by the chance of sign for the Camp Nou side this summer.
It turns out this story now gets an update coming from Cadena Cope, who brings Barça’s stance on the possibility of signing Mané in the coming months.
The strong information in the story is that Mané’s entourage told journalist Helena Condis that he ‘wants to play in Spain’, either at Barcelona or Real Madrid, as he could plan a ‘change of scenery’ at the end of the season.
The operation, however, isn’t moving so quickly. First because Mané is still to take a final decision on his situation, as he’ll wait at least until Liverpool’s clash against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Then Barcelona’s hunt for the player is said to be more linked to the potential departure of Ousamane Dembele.
Cope claims that if the Frenchman goes, that ‘could open a door’ for the Reds’ star at the club.
The report adds that Mané is a player Barcelona director Mateu Alemany ‘has always liked’.
