Ibrahima Konaté’s move to Liverpool is ‘only a matter of days’ away from being completed, with ‘everything okay’ on the transfer.

That’s according to RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi, who has provided an update on the defender’s impending move from RB Leipzig.

Konaté has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer, with Liverpool determined to add a central defender and partner for Virgil van Dijk after their issues in the position this season.

The RB Leipzig star is the man they have apparently made their number one target, and several reports over the last week have hinted they are close to getting a deal done.

Tanzi now backs that up and states that ‘everything is okay’ for the deal to go through and his arrival at Anfield is ‘now only a matter of days’ from being finalised.

This is backed up by RMC, who add that Konaté ‘will leave’ for Liverpool and the Reds will pay his €35m release clause to make it happen.

It’s all very definitive, and it seems that after months of speculation and numerous names being linked, Liverpool are on the cusp of getting the central defender they desperately want.
