Almost a month ago to the day, we covered claims from Turkey that Liverpool are one of a number of clubs keeping an eye on Wilfried Singo ahead of the January market.
The Reds were joined by Arsenal and Manchester United in their interest, and all three clubs sent officials to watch the 24-year-old in action. Those scouts attended Galatasaray’s Champions League match against Ajax.
January moves from one, or all of, the three were expected. Aston Villa have also been credited with interest this year. At that time a potential asking price was put at €50m.
Wilfried Singo has a contract lasting until 2030. It’s believed that contract contains a €60m release clause.
Foot-Sur7 and Fotomac now report Liverpool are getting serious. The Reds are expected to make an offer worth an initial €28m plus a further €10-15m in potential bonuses.
That would take the package to a possible €43m.
Initial negotiations have already taken place, and there appears to be confidence a transfer is possible.
The Ivory Coast international can play as a right back or centre back.
