Bayern Munich beat Pafos 5-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday. Michael Olise got two assists and the last of Bayern’s goals.
Wednesday saw Liverpool linked with the France international, with it claimed the Reds would be prepared to pay €100m for Olise. A lot of the report felt like PR for Bayern Munich signing him in the first place. Such campaigns aren’t unusual in Germany but Liverpool interest wouldn’t be jaw-dropping.
In their Thursday edition, German newspaper Bild reiterate that Liverpool are serious. Manchester City and Chelsea are also credited with interest, although it’s the Reds who are believed to be most keen.
Bayern Munich want to extend Olise’s contract. He’s currently paid a base salary of €12m. That figure doesn’t put him in the top bracket for the Bundesliga side and they want to fix that.
Abendzeitung München report ‘poker’ is set to begin around Olise, with Liverpool interest and a renewal potentially competing.
Interestingly, it’s also pointed out the player’s showboating against Pafos didn’t go down well. Cypriot fans booed the attacker after a ‘provocative pirouette with the ball’. They clearly believed he was mocking their team.
