Liverpool had a scout in Belgium this week to watch Olympiacos’ clash with Antwerp in the Europa League.
That’s according to SportTime editor in chief Giannis Chorianopoulous, who says they were joined by the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Lille in watching the game.
Earlier this week, Chorianopoulous reported that Liverpool were sending at least one scout to watch over the Europa League clash, with midfielder Aguibou Camara the man they wanted to take a look at.
He’s been linked with a move to Anfield after shining for the Greek side this season following a move in the summer.
Liverpool’s interest can be dated back to October when it was reported in Greece that Camara had caught the attention of a scout during a game.
That scout had subsequently started to ask around about the player, and it was made clear those in charge at Anfield would be keeping a close eye on him in the coming months.
That’s certainly the case, with Chorianopoulous reporting earlier this week that the Reds were sending a scout to the clash with Antwerp and now confirming that was the case.
SportTime also cover the situation and report that Camara was the only one who ‘stood out’ in the game, which the Greek side lost 1-0.
They say that Camara ‘showed some energy’ in the game and justified the scouts being there to watch him.
Perhaps that will be enough to convince Liverpool into making a move, with the interest clearly there and not going away.
