Liverpool are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani in the summer, even though he may end up costing as much as €80m.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who cover the Reds interest in the forward today after his impressive performances this season.
They explain that the striker has been able to reinvent himself in Germany, securing himself a place at the World Cup with France courtesy of a series of impressive performances which have several Premier League clubs ‘lining up to sign him’.
He has ‘undoubtedly convinced’ those who still had doubts about his ability to play at the highest level and Europe’s top clubs are ‘keeping a close eye’ on his performances.
Those are qualities that are ‘always highly valued’ by Jurgen Klopp and his team, but they would have to pay a big price to get their man.
It’s made clear they would need to open the chequebook for the striker, with recent reports in Germany making it clear that Eintracht won’t listen to anything below €60m.
Muani’s new status and the current market could ‘push the price up further’, though, to a figure closer to €80m if the German side play their cards right.
That could present problems for Liverpool, who are already eyeing up a major move for Jude Bellingham that could cost them as much as €150m.
Either way, they are among the clubs interested in Muani and his name is one to keep an eye on ahead of the summer.
