Barcelona are prioritising a move for Liverpool’s Luis Díaz this summer while keeping other options open.
On Friday, we covered claims from Spain which stated the La Liga winners are unwilling to pay more than €60m for the forward.
The Liverpool player is on the front page of today’s Sport, with ’60 million’ written in bold.
Within the report, it’s explained the Premier League winners are unwilling to sell Díaz for less than €80m. Barcelona, on the other hand, impose a limit of €60m, and don’t want to exceed that figure.
The Spanish champions consider this to be a fair price for a 28-year-old with two years left on his contract. He currently earns €3.5m per year at Anfield and the report states the Catalan club can improve his salary.
Sport have another report on Liverpool’s plan to retain the Colombia international. With a contract until 2027, the player believes it’s time for him to take the definitive step
Barca are his first option, but he also has a renewal offer from the Merseyside club. The newspaper states Liverpool are willing to improve Díaz’s salary ‘considerably’, but their proposal doesn’t convince him.
According to Sport, Liverpool have ‘no choice but to consider selling him or raise their bet until they change his mind’.
Earlier claims stated Díaz isn’t considering renewing his contract at Anfield and it remains to be seen if Liverpool can convince him to stay by securing his long-term future.
