Liverpool are considering signing Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners, according to a report from Italy.

The midfielder has impressed, across the pitch, since joining La Dea in 2021. He’s managed seven goals and four assists from 26 games this season.

Tutto Atalanta say Koopmeiners can influence the game from several positions and this has seen him draw the attention from other clubs, including Liverpool.

It’s claimed the 25-year-old has emerged as a ‘prime target’ for the Reds, who see him as a key player to build a competitive squad and to reach new heights in the future.

Therefore, Jürgen Klopp’s side are ‘preparing a bold move’ to secure the Netherlands international’s services.

Tutto Atalanta say Liverpool are ‘ready to make a huge offer’ for the Atalanta star. They don’t mention any figure, but relay what’s been said in England about an offer of around €45m.

A deal is difficult to carry out in January because the Dutchman doesn’t want to leave this month.

This report emerged hours after Calciomercato stated Liverpool, Newcastle United, Napoli and Juventus have all knocked on Atalanta’s door for the former AZ Alkmaar man. None of these clubs have convinced La Dea so far.

They add an auction is expected to take place for Koopmeiners next summer, with a starting price of €40m.
