When it comes to big transfer windows, next summer is likely to be a huge one for Kai Havertz.

The Bayer Leverkusen man has established himself as one of the biggest and brightest young stars in recent years and is now a wanted man.

Elite clubs around Europe are all keen on the 20-year-old and Liverpool are one of them according to Sport Bild.

The Reds have been linked with a move for several months, but the German magazine reports that they may have just been handed a massive boost in any potential pursuit.

They explain that Havertz is negotiating ‘intensively’ with seven clubs and Liverpool are among them.

They, like the other parties, are in a position to fulfil Bayer Leverkusen’s desire to get €130m and Rudi Völler, Bayer’s sporting director, is open ‘creative models’ to meet that price.

Havertz is assessing his options, and the situation of the manager is said to be important in his decision making.

And in that regard, Liverpool have an ‘advantage’. Jürgen Klopp has a contract until 2022 so that situation is stable. He has also taken notice of the atmosphere at the club, with SportBild stating that it ‘captivates’ him.

Liverpool will have a fight on their hands should they actively pursue the deal, with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid also keen.

However, with cards up their sleeves such as that atmosphere and Klopp, they may have a significant advantage over their competitors.
