Liverpool are ‘preparing an offer’ for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and have made Valencia aware that they are doing so.

That’s according to Las Provincias, who confirm reports from elsewhere in Spain that Liverpool are keen on Mamardashvili and getting ready to make their move.

The newspaper reports that Liverpool have been in touch with Valencia to confirm that they are preparing an offer to send to the Spanish side for the goalkeeper.

Mamardashvili is interested in the move and his agent made clear after he shone at Euro 2024 that he would only accept a transfer that suited them both and not just Valencia financially. Liverpool fit the bill on that front.

Initial talks between Valencia and Liverpool have taken place, with the former’s owner Peter Lim valuing the goalkeeper at €35-40m. it’s believed the first offer from the Reds will at least exceed €30m.

Liverpool see Mamardashvili as a good market opportunity and believe the goalkeeper could be an ideal option to replace Alisson down the line.

One idea they are working on is to hand the Valencia goalkeeper a long-term contract and allowing him to settle for a period before then replacing the Brazilian in the near future.

Plaza Deportiva, meanwhile, cover the earlier reports and add a little of their own information, stating that if any deal is to happen it will have to be approved from Singapore first. That is where Peter Lim resides.

They believe that the most obvious solution is that Mamardashvili joins Liverpool on loan, is allowed to play in the Premier League to adapt to it and then replacing Alisson in the near future.

Whether that actually happens remains to be seen but multiple sources in Spain are now reporting Liverpool’s interest and the situation appears to be moving quickly.
