Daniel Sturridge’s current deal at Liverpool will expire at the end of the season.
The striker has made five starts in all competitions for the Reds this season out of which two of them were in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp has preferred Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to lead his side’s attack.
With limited playing time at Anfield, the England international could leavr the Merseyside club as a free agent in the summer.
According to Catalan newspaper Sport, the 29-year-old has refused to renew his contract with the English side and the former Chelsea man has emerged as a target for Real Betis.
It is claimed the La Liga outfit have ‘suggested’ Sturridge as a ‘realistic option’ to strengthen their attack for next season. They are of the belief that should Betis sign the frontman, it is likely to benefit both parties.
A move to Spain would help the player relaunch his career after struggling with injuries and a lack of playing time at Liverpool.
The current attackers at Betis have struggled to impress and the report explains that Sturridge’s arrival could help their manager Quique Setién have a player with a different profile up front.
Sport doesn’t mention if Sturridge is open to the idea of joining Betis or not.
