It’s not often you’ll find a Liverpool player publicly praising a Manchester United player, but national loyalty trumps club loyalty as far as Alexis Mac Allister is concerned.
The midfielder is today quoted by FC Inter News, in which he praises Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and backs him to be a star of the future for Argentina.
The Liverpool star, who is also a key player for his country these days as well, has been speaking to the YouTube channel AFA Estudio about the future of the current world champions.
The focus of the conversation was on Inter Milan’s Valentin Carboni, who has been a part of the group this summer during their success in the Copa América.
He was one of several youngsters in the group selected by Lionel Scaloni as he continues to integrate the future of the country into the team alongside their veterans.
Garnacho can be added to that group, earning his call up after an impressive season for Manchester United that saw him finish the campaign with 10 goals and five assists in 50 games in total.
He is very much seen as a star of the future by club and country and Mac Allister fully agrees, even if he is currently playing for one of Liverpool’s biggest rivals.
“He (Carboni) played little, but in training he showed what he was worth, I think he earned the respect of the team group,” he said.
“He and Garnacho are two players who can give a lot to Argentina. We have a lot of hope for their future. We can load them with a lot of expectations right now, but in the future, they will give us a lot.”
