Luis Diaz has been convinced to leave Liverpool and join Bayern Munich this summer after a video call with Vincent Kompany.

That’s according to Sport BILD, who report that Diaz has agreed to join Bayern this summer and is pushing for the transfer.

They report that Kompany is the one who has convinced the Colombian into the move, among other things, after speaking with the player in a video call.

Liverpool, though, are remaining resolute. They have rejected an initial offer of €52m and reports suggest they want at least €100m to sanction a sale. That’s despite Diaz’s contract expiring next summer.

Secret talks with Diaz’s management have been ongoing for week and that includes the video call between Kompany and Diaz. The Liverpool man is believed to have agreed at that point and made it clear to the Reds that he wants the transfer to happen. They’ve known for several months that he’d like to leave Anfield.

Bayern see him as an ideal addition to the team and the club’s supervisory board have set a financial framework for the deal, in terms of salary and transfer fee. It is now up to the German club to find an agreement with Liverpool, having already won over Diaz.
