Liverpool are one of the clubs in the mix to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada in the summer.
The attacking midfielder’s deal expires in June and hasn’t accepted the renewal offers proposed by the Bundesliga side, with the latest claims in Germany stated he’s been made a great offer to join Borussia Dortmund for free.
Ruhr Nachrichten explain no deal has been agreed with BVB as the negotiations are still at an ‘exploratory stage’.
There’s interest from the Premier League in the 26-year-old and this is when Liverpool get a mention.
The Japan international has impressed this season, scoring 13 goals and managing five assists from 30 matches in all competitions.
He currently earns €2.5m per year and would like to ‘at least double’ it. Since Kamada could change clubs for free in the summer, he’ll be eligible to earn a signing on bonus.
BVB are interested to secure his services and offer him a five-year deal, while Liverpool are also interested in the player and may not have an issue to meet his salary demands.
Over at Bild, they state BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl met the midfielder’s agents.
They further add ‘top English clubs’ have Kamada on their transfer agenda for the next window but don’t mention the Reds or any other team in the report.
A move to Dortmund is a possibility in the summer but Bild explain Kamada has not yet made a decision on his future.
As it stands, it’s less likely for him to continue at Eintracht Frankfurt even though he’s not officially rejected the renewal offer.
The player’s desire is to take the ‘next step in his career’ and a move to Liverpool or BVB would help him achieve it.
