Liverpool, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are all interested in Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida this summer.
That’s according to Algemeen Dagblad, who say the defender could easily end up in the Premier League after his performances in the Eredivisie. The newspaper reports that Geertruida has found himself on the radar of clubs in Germany, France and ‘especially England’.
The interest from the Premier League comes from Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham who have all shown an interest in him.
That has become clear in recent weeks, and it now remains to be seen if any of them make a definitive move, ahead of competition from Germany and France.
Geertruida had been close to a move to RB Leipzig last summer when the German side were happy to pay €32.5m for him, but he ended up remaining in Rotterdam.
He was again a key player for them this season , yet failure to reach an agreement on a new contract means the Dutch side need to sell this summer. Any deal is expected to be much lower than what Leipzig were willing to pay.
What Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham or West Ham would be willing to pay isn’t mentioned and they’ll have to wait for the time being as the player is focused on EURO 2024 and doesn’t want to discuss transfer business.
The reality, though, is that he will be leaving Feyenoord at some point this summer and has a quartet of Premier League sides in the bidding.
