Liverpool have reportedly been working quietly to secure a deal for Chino Huerta. The 23-year-old Mexico international currently plays for Club Universidad Nacional In Mexico City.
The Reds didn’t want to include him in Arne Slot’s side this season, and were instead planning to send him out on loan to gain some experience in English football. That loan would be to a Championship club.
That’s reported by Soy Futbol and others in Mexico, with Liverpool said to have been in negotiations to reach a deal for the winger before the window closes.
Journalist Kery Ruiz was first with the claims, and he said earlier today that Liverpool are ‘very close’ to sealing the transfer, before then explaining the deal has faltered.
That’s because the Anfield club haven’t been able to find a suitable destination for Huerta to spend the current season at.
Now, an important point to make here is that these claims have caused quite some surprise among Mexican football fans, with a lot feeling the player isn’t at the level required for Liverpool.
