Unless Adrien Rabiot sorts out his future in the next couple of weeks, the next six months or so are going to be extremely painful.
A bit like the Emre Can saga, where a new article appeared nearly every day regarding Juventus trying to sign him on a free, the Frenchman’s is likely to drag on until the very last minute as he waits and sees who makes the best offer.
We’ve already covered, perhaps in too much detail, what’s been said about Tottenham’s interest, but France Football believe Liverpool are also in there, or at least were.
According to the French magazine, the Reds are among the clubs who have ‘moved their pawns’ to try and sign Rabiot, which, we guess, means they’ve made contact with his entourage to try and find out what the situation is.
As things stand, a source close to PSG has told France Football there’s just a 60% chance of him leaving, meaning the Ligue 1 champions could still come out victorious, if not a bit poorer (if that’s even possible), such are the 23-year-old’s demands going forward.
Liverpool, as well as Spurs, Juventus and Barcelona, are said to have done this ‘over the past few months’, suggesting everyone was anticipating this situation in January.
Frankly, the lack of reports elsewhere, especially recently, regarding Jürgen Klopp’s side suggests the Reds have moved on, but never say never in football, especially if we enter 2019 and Rabiot hasn’t made his mind up yet.
