Liverpool and Manchester City are showing an interest in Lecce full-back Patrick Dorgu but could face competition from Barcelona for his signature.
That’s according to the Puglia edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, who have an article saying the youngster’s rapid rise has earned him attention from afar.
The newspaper explains that Dorgu is ‘starting to have the eyes of several clubs’ on him, with Liverpool and Barcelona already having ‘targeted’ the player.
Manchester City have joined them in showing an interest and even ‘observed’ him playing for Italy against England recently.
The 18-year-old is currently locked down to a deal until 2027 and his agent is not pushing for a move, believing his client should continue to develop and mature with the Italian side.
However, if he continues at his current rate there is a belief that ‘concrete offers’ will be piling up to take him away sooner rather than later.
Whether one of those is from Liverpool or Manchester City isn’t yet known, but the interest is there in a player who has proved himself adept at both the defensive and offensive side of the game.
He’s very much the Lecce youngster on the rise, which has not gone unnoticed and he’s now being watched carefully by both the Premier League duo and Barcelona.
